The doldrums are only really a drag if you’ve got somewhere to go and your sails are flat with no wind. I am at a loss as to where the negative connotation came from. It’s not ideal but you get by with what you have. Rest up, maybe hop in and backfloat a bit. Read a book. Mope about in your thoughts. You know the thoughts… the ones you avoid having. Or you just man up and row your way out.
