I know I am often prone to stretching simile and metaphor to an extent that it is only recognizable as such to me. It’s probably more to do with a limited vocabulary than anything else but I will climb out there on a limb nonetheless.

All that in mind I do believe there is something there with this damn tree that outgrew its own capacity to sustain itself when the weight of the rain came down.
