Photos of New York City workers interring bodies in mass graves on Hart Island (Typhus Island) have gone viral on the Intertoobz. That’s pretty sobering. There’s no way around that. Some of the bodies are, of course, not COVID-19 deaths. Shit is getting backed up though and a fair number of people are dying every day from everything else that people die of, but still… It’s pretty fucking scary if you’ve never seen people being buried in mass graves in real time. That’s World War II footage on The History Channel for most of us. There will be plenty of footage of 2020 for cable TV 100 years from now.

Mayor Bill DiBlasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo are tiffing on TV and social media about what’s going to happen with the rest of the NYC school year. There are broader implications than the virus but I’d err on the side of caution on this one. Billy D has been pretty shrill since this started but I’m going to agree with him on just shutting down school for the year. Let’s stick with the song lyric “I believe that children are the future” and make sure they’re not future footage on The History Channel. It’s a bust at this point and jumpstarting the entire system halfway through the last quarter doesn’t work like a football game. There is no rally. There is no hail mary pass with minutes left to save the game. Just shut shit down.

Donald Trump says the feds are going to stop funding the states for testing soon. This fuckface still falls under IJustCantDotCom. Shut up, Don. Take your retarded family and robot daughter and her lizard alien husband and go away.

The bit argument here with this moron is whether or not he is handling the crisis well and how that might impact the November elections. Let me rephrase that. People are arguing about it but the answer is probably a lot more simple It’s not a question of how he is handling it or has handled it. Should people turn out to vote, and that’s less likely now than three months ago, he will win because people will get it into their heads that changing administrations during a “war” will be worse than anything he could do in the next four years. The people that are thinking this way are dead wrong, but that’s what will happen anyway. “Wrong” never stopped people from making shitty decisions.
