The odds are slim that, with my old waddle hanging above the candles, I will celebrate 100. That’s okay by me, unless some miracle of science (a contradiction of terms) allows some great leaps in quality of life.

This is a gentle sounding word though, with all its sibilance. It’s easy to say, sliding over the tongue and beyond the teeth effortlessly.
