Late capitalism?

Coming to terms with this phraseology after a few years now and it’s curious. If late capitalism is used to describe the economic phenomena of the second half of the 20th Century, what we call the first half of the 21st Century thus far? Socialism and socialist totalitarianism as we knew it has shattered. There is no opposing force in the world in any organized sense. The former socialist republics have been able to monetize the capitalist ethos better than any country in The West. The absurdity and iniquities are at least as grotesque as ever and maybe moreso. New York City for example is amidst such a boom in high end real estate development, at the same time absorbing impoverished immigrants, that we are importing billionaires to fill the super-talls.

So what is this?

Late-late Capitalism?

Hyper-Capitalism?

Or maybe the increased speed and volume is truly signaling the end, as water that picks up velocity as it nears the final lap of the drain.

I don’t know.
