COVID-19

Seeing a lot more people on the train wearing surgical masks these days. Someone on the other end of the train car sneezed loudly just now and a half dozen neighbors on this end sat bolt-upright and turned quickly to catch the “culprit.”

Paranoia strikes deep. Into your lives it will creep. It starts when you’re always afraid. Step out of line…

Nah, I can’t live this way so I’m just going to have to give this one to The Universe. Not about to go making out with strangers anyway and rent comes due with or without a super-virus. C’est la vie.

I wouldn’t mention it at all but the current level of fear says an awful lot about the current social climate. People were already afraid of any number of things, some easier to identify than others. This Corona virus will just kind of unify people for a bit around a common fear. Maybe unify is the wrong word. It’s more of a lowest common denominator. It’s go everyone talking the same shit about one topic for the first time in a while. Beats another war, I suppose. That’s just as likely to be next. The fear has to go someplace, right?

God help us.

God forgive us.

On a positive note, people can add the word pandemic to their vocabulary and that’s a couple syllables more than a lot of people are used to.

Insert smiley face here.

It’s a fucking joke! Everybody say it together!

Good morning!
