From the composer of the music:
N0.1 is an elusive project that I have created from the inner dephts of my flesh prison. Hope you like the array of dark athmospheric synths paired to a fake ethereal AI generated landscape. #dubtechno#techno#ableton#abletonlive#dubtechnovideo
I had a sneaking suspicion about the image. It was just too perfect, for all the isolation and decay and wetness. Concrete doesn’t tend to do well in severe climates, but… anyway. The image still matches the early morning mood, and the music goes even further toward capturing that certain something that happens here in the wee hours.
We’re deep into the summer now and by all reports July was the hottest month ever on record. That’s downright disturbing, truly because it was the most uncomfortable, sustained heat and humidity to my own recollection. We’ve had heatwaves, but holy shit! We won’t even talk about the southwest where they were between 90 and 136 (Death Valley) for over a month. Over 90 with no respite, not even at night. That’s not exactly sustainable. These are strange and troubled times.
There’s nothing really troubling in the extended forecast here for New York City though, so… Whether there is or isn’t, there’s not a lot we can do about it. The city government is funny though. They’re telling people to do their part by keeping their air conditioners on a higher setting, but Broadway is still lit up like an enormous Christmas tree. Office buildings and super computers are churning away. Blah blah blah… The wheels of commerce will keep turning while the rest of us choke in the heat. We’ll just breed more until it’s too uncomfortable to touch each other.
Until then…
