World War III Radio: Nireya’s | 1980’s Soviet Wave🌌 & Space Synthwave🚀 Lo-fi Playlist 🎧| Sad & Chill | Vo.1 📼

My suspicion is that everything here is AI – generated, and oddly it doesn’t matter to me. Not today. I appreciate the outcome. It almost doesn’t fit the Soviet Wave label though. Most of the vintage Soviet Wave I’ve heard was a lot more optimistic, portending a lighter, brighter future. This collection, as lovely as it is, comes across as almost funereal, as if lamenting the death of the Soviet dream.

What was the term Jacques Derrida surrendered to Mark Fisher? Hauntology? A melancholy, or homesickness, for a future that never came to be. I guess that’s next for us too, on this side of the remains of the Iron Curtain, beyond late capitalism into…. where are we now? Anyway, it’s a lovely collection.

A snow day here in New York, the remaining drifts and plow-heaps, seem a reminder from The Universe that putting on pants can be entirely overrated. I’ve not done much today. The last week in fact has been a kind of reset for whatever 2026 has in store. I’ve not done much for a week now, and I don’t really feel any sense of loss of the time. I looked out the window this morning and said, “Dear World, Fuck this.”
