Robot strippers. It’s a thing. Are you ready for it? https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/9839507/pole-dancing-robot-strippers-to-perform-next-to-human-dancers-on-stage-at-nightclub/

I have to be honest. This is why we still don’t have flying cars. Or as my mother would say, “This is why we can’t have anything nice!”
Because as soon as man can conceive a thing of wonder, he has to think of a way to fuck it.
Fuck it.
But I am mostly kidding. Mostly. I’m also shaking my head in bewilderment.
Also, on a serious note, there’s something to this. Working from the ground up, the heels are just hilarious. The surveillance camera head though suggests that this is not just an expensive, tacky piss-take. It turns the tables on the men in the audience, doesn’t it? Robot or android sexuality is definitely not new ground. For almost as long as men have conceived of them, there’s been talk about making them lifelike enough for sexual relations of some sort. Position that against the dehumanization of sex-workers/women by men and then pointing the lens back at them for once seems… a statement. Maybe this is a story to circle back on and perhaps researching the artist is the way to go.
And indeed the artist says this: They were designed by British artist Giles Walker, who told the broadcaster his robots were created to “play with the notion of voyeurism”. He said the strippers – made out of plastic bits of female mannequins and metal vehicle parts – gave rise to the question of “who has the power between the voyeur and the observed person?”
No doubt the irony will be lost in the setting.
