“Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Heres Tom with the Weather.” ~ Bill Hicks
You think that’s all just nonsense? Sit down and think about it for a bit.
The weather?
Fair with a bit of a cold front. Not quite indifference, nor even detachment. It’s more of an acceptance of being in the slipstream so maybe it’s all a question of seeing how quickly one can move with a bit of a backwind to add to the velocity.
Listening to old Oliver Sacks podcasts whilst preparing for work. No workout today. We’ll call it a rest day. I’m often unusually afraid of rest days as my experience is that rest days turn into rest weeks and then rest months. I am, at the same time, acutely aware of what happens to men my age if rest days aren’t allowed.
Time to move.
But think about the above Bill Hicks quote. Just think about it. You may experience resistance and write it off instantly as bullshit. Allow yourself a crack in the door. Allow yourself a brief moment of question. What if it’s not bullshit? You could take it two ways. One way would mean an offense against the ego. The other could lead to connectedness and peace. I choose the latter.
Or you don’t have to consider it at all. That’s okay too.
