Lest I be misconstrued…

I recognize that I come across as anti-religion and the short answer to people who ask me if I am would be no. I am not against religion, and I certainly harbor no ill will towards people of faith, at least not in the broader sense of that phylum or class. This is a conversation though that requires a lot more time and space than a blog at 6am on only half a cup of coffee.

I do believe that religion should be more about attraction than promotion (and certainly never legislation) and that religious people would find less push-back (and more freedom) if they led by example.

Keeping this short though, I’ll add this. Anyone feeling inclined to carrying on about morality, whether religious or otherwise, should simply shut the fuck up until everyone is fed and cared for equally. And paraphrasing the Bible yet again, faith without works is dead. I’ll add that to my words yesterday about political values and ideals. If you’re not putting the action behind it, then you don’t really believe it at all and need to go out and pass out sandwiches to hungry strangers or something. Start small but shut your trap until you start.
