COVID-19, part 21

Still no shelter in place order but I’ll tell you what. My patience and tolerance levels may be lower than some, but after two days of working from home I’m all that much more grateful for having a place to get up and go in the morning. It’s going to be a long haul doing it from the corner of my bedroom. That seems a luxury problem at the moment though so let’s keep perspective.

There isn’t much to say. It is, as I mentioned before about Camus saying, more about monotony. It’s a relentless flow of sameness and none of the same is very cheerful. I’m weary of discussing it and have already mentioned to loved ones that we need to have portions of the day when we place a moratorium on discussion of the virus.

This has been my most cheerful part of the morning thus far:

Toots Hibbert’s Time Tough is the jam of jams for working people. For those in the struggle, and make no mistake, many of us were struggling before any recent developments. Call it inequality. Call it oppression. Call it simply the human condition. Life. We need to create our own moments of joy and happiness.
