I had put this up yesterday with a placeholder and now some 12 or more hours later, there still isn’t really anything more to say. It’s just the music. Strange jazz. Dark jazz. Jazz noir. Call it anything. It’s just about the music. My familiarity with Angelo Badalamenti is limited to soundtrack work and various disco artists and his work has never really grabbed me the way this does. Too… something. Sometimes too slick? It’s not a question of his talent. No question at all. And this doesn’t need a qualifier at all. It’s just superb.

Sleep didn’t come readily for the second night in a row. It’s left me in an odd space where this is just perfect.
