No joke, I love the Archaic Inventions blog and youtube channel and this latest from DARREN COPELAND pretty much covers all the reasons. This person is like the Indiana Jones of musical treasures. It’s one gem after another after another after another. Many of them are just not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but there’s yet to be one that doesn’t work for me. It’s not that I can’t be happy sometimes in the pop realm but more often than not I’m more at home in other places and spaces. Like this one:

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the pandemic arguments which have become more strange and horrible in many ways than the pandemic/covid itself. Epidemiologists are saying now that the Delta Variants (and now Lambda?) are going to produce numbers exceeding 2020 peaks, despite the number of people vaccinated. At the same time, the entire issue has become a political battlefield and some states have chosen to simply move forward despite numbers of casualties and let the cards fall where they may. Or let the people fall, as it were. That’s all I can say about it at the moment as it’s just gotten so crazy and all-consuming. I know my capabilities and limitations here and I am choosing consciously to put my attention elsewhere, while taking all precautions, of course. My own immune system may still be somewhat compromised but there are few other options. My mental condition will take me out first if I dwell too long on the madness.

The above paragraph is intentionally vague, more of a brief statement on why I’m not talking about the obvious topic of the hour/day/week/year/decade. I’m filing it all under I Just Can’t Dot Com.

I think it’s time to think less and just “be” more.
