Radio Quarantine – Lebanon Hanover – Why Not Just Be Solo (2012)

Someone in the video comments suggested that LEBANON HANOVER is the lovechild of Ian Curtis and Siouxsie Sioux. There are other analogies I’d put first but you get the idea. To my memory of that time and place in the 80s I’d take Joy Division out of the equation and maybe throw Daniel Ash into the mix. People know what they know and hear what they hear though. The thought is there. This is 80s post=punk sounds from 2012. Or darkwave, or chillwave or whatever the kids are calling it these days. There was a new one thrown into one of the mixes I listened to yesterday: MINIMAL WAVE? Every little sub-genre has its own name. Just shut up and listen to the music, man.

The rain finally let up last night, for a little while anyway. It’s wet all over the forecast for the rest of the week, and a bit warmer for a few days. The rain is still preferable, or a light rain would be perfect. It’s not just me being a gloomy gus… or maybe it is. I don’t know. It’s just better for my head for one reason or another.

I’m grateful to be working (and getting paid) and I’m putting my nose to the grindstone but it’s as big a chore to get my head into it as it is to do the actual work. That should probably be kept private but mustering the energy to do a high energy job without the vibe of the sales office can be difficult. It knocks the shit out of me, really. Still, I’ll be crushed when it’s over and I have to go back to how it was. The pandemic has agreed with me in many ways. In many ways it’s been liberating, despite that it’s a lockdown… irony.

No deep thoughts today. Just random musings.
