This isn’t quite the vibe I was looking for this morning but sometimes an energy will make itself found. Something will serve itself up on a silver platter and define the mood. Today that energy was ARMAGEDDON DILDOS. Take what The Universe gives you. Sometimes it’s better than anything you’ll conjure left to your own devices. So since we’ve got wars and rumors of wars, we may as well have tactical missiles that make music.
Be not afraid?
No, I think I’ll be as frightened as I wish to be. it’s not exactly like we haven’t been here before but shit is a bit more real today than it was a couple weeks ago. I mean, it’s all relative. It’s been this way for some people for a long while, but it’s been a bit since folks here in the US have faced an existential threat from another country. It’s not exactly new if you’re over 35 or so, but it’s no less daunting a task to try to wake up and say oh well, be not afraid.
Fuck that.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s not abject terror so much as it’s a heightened awareness. My spidey-sense is tingling more today than t would have been at this point in February 2022. It is what it is though. The light bill still has to be paid until the lights go out permanently. Make me think though that these people in places where it’s a daily threat or even a presence of war that just get up and go to work and open shops and take their kids to school. They are the real heroes out there. It would be really easy to get a permanent case of the fuck-its with all that other stuff going on. I don’t know how people do it. I really don’t.
The threat is still more distant here. This isn’t Gaza, or Yemen. A drone strike or a tank rolling down the street isn’t really likely. Not just yet, and it may never come. Well, never is an unlikely scenario also, but it’s not likely to happen today. You never know though. There’s a lot going on in the world and we shouldn’t be walking around pretending our lives and our lifestyle are guaranteed. Despite evidence to the contrary we do seem to forget that very easily though. Hello 9/11. Hello Covid-19.
Hello.
