Argument of the Day – Never explain yourself and never apologize.

The Art Critic 1919-20 Raoul Hausmann 1886-1971 Purchased 1974 http://www.tate.org.uk/art/work/T01918

When an artist or musician takes the time to explain their intent, or their craft, they immediately steal something from the viewer/listener. That is the once in a lifetime opportunity for the experience to be their own. It’s vain and selfish at best, and an apology at worst, for the work. It is grand larceny.

Never explain yourself and never apologize.

Change my mind.
